2011 Vin Santo del Chianti Classico, Half Bottle
Tasting notes:
The grapes were dried for three to five months before pressing. Aged for eight years before bottling. Aromas of ripe apricot and pineapple, alongside sweeternotes of hazelnut, caramel and figs. Medium-bodied on the palate, the sweetness is well-balanced with a refreshing acidity.
Producer description:
Isole e Olena was born in the 1950s when two adjoining estates, ‘Isole’ and ‘Olena’ were purchased together. In 2022 the estate came under the ownership of Christopher Descours, the owner of Charles Heidsieck and Biondi Santi. Located in the western part of Chianti Classico, just north of the village of Castellina, the 45 hectares of vineyard are planted between 350 – 450 metres above sea level, primarily on galestro soils. This is a much cooler part of Chianti resulting in lighter and more scented and elegant wines.
