The 2012 Barolo Riserva Ginestra is a commanding and beautifully mature expression of this celebrated cru. Aromas of dried rose petals, wild berries, tar and sweet spice unfold alongside hints of tobacco, truffle and balsamic herbs. The palate is deep and structured, with layers of dark cherry, liquorice and savoury earth framed by finely resolved tannins. Powerful yet harmonious, the wine finishes long and persistent, showcasing the elegance and complexity that only mature Barolo can achieve. Paolo Conterno is a family-owned estate in Monforte d'Alba, at the heart of Barolo. Founded in the late nineteenth century and now managed by the fourth generation, the winery is renowned for producing traditionally styled Barolo that combines power, structure and longevity with increasing finesse.
