Tasting notes:
This small parcel belongs exclusively to the Ceretto family. The vines grow on clay soils and sands and enjoy a south/south-west exposure. Aged in oak barrels for 30 months (10% new). Aromas of ripe red cherry, dried rose, licorice, and cloves combine with notes of tobacco and earth. Full-bodied and fleshy with smooth tannins on the palate and a long, pleasant finish.
Producer description:
Ceretto is a family-owned winery in the heart of Langhe. Founded by Riccardo Ceretto in 1937, they acquired some great sites in Barolo and Barbaresco over the years and now produce single-vineyard wines which have been critically acclaimed. They ferment their wines with indigenous yeasts, use shorter skin contact during the maceration and age their wines in a mix of barrique and small botte to capture the best expressions of the Nebbiolo varietals.
