Elegant and refined, this Brunello opens with aromas of dried strawberry, rose, cedar and clove. The palate is silky and vibrant, with juicy acidity supporting ripe wild berry fruit and subtle citrus and violet notes. Fine-grained tannins and a long, perfumed finish with hints of liquorice complete this beautifully balanced wine.

Producer description:

Castello Romitorio is a historic estate overlooking Montalcino, revived in 1984 when renowned Italian artist Sandro Chia restored the abandoned fortress and replanted its vineyards. Today the winery is run by Sandro and his son Filippo. The 16-hectare estate is planted mainly with Sangiovese on marl, clay and alberese soils, farmed with a strong focus on sustainability. The wines show the elegance and depth of Montalcino, with vibrant fruit, refined tannins and balanced oak. Labels feature original artwork by Sandro Chia.
