Tasting notes:
From the esteemed Heresztyn-Mazzini estate, this Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2020 hails from vineyards on the Côte de Nuits, meticulously tended by this family producer, renowned for their Gevrey-Chambertin. The wine displays a beautiful ruby hue. On the nose, expect bright red berry aromas, subtle earthy undertones, and a hint of spice. The palate is fresh and lively, with supple tannins offering a smooth texture and a clean, persistent finish. A true expression of regional Burgundy.
Producer description:
This fine, 6 hectare estate was born out of the original Domaine Heresztyn when Florence Heresztyn took her share of the family vines and set up with her Champenois husband, Simon Mazzini. They have converted all their vines to biodynamic viticulture, introduced techniques such as whole bunch fermentations and improved the élevage of the wines. All the wines are aged in small oak barrels for 18 months, drink beautifully when young but have the richness and concentration to age magnificently.
