2020 Chateau Coutet
Tasting notes:
Barsac is known for its cool soils which results in rich and lively wine. Once affected by the botrytis, the grapes are barrels fermented. Aged for up to18 months in French oak barrels. Aromas of white blossom, citrus fruit, honey and vanilla. Fleshy, round and sweet on the palate with a perfect balance between power, freshness and finesse.
Producer description:
With 38.5 hectares of vines, Ch Courtet is the largest vineyard in Barsac. Once owned by the Lur-Saluces family who also owned d’Yquem, Coutet today is run by Aline Baly. Together with her family, they worked to renew the vineyard and renovate the buildings, then brought the estate into an era of advanced technical expertise by developing a close relationship with the people from the Domaines Baron Philippe de Rothschild.
