this Gigondas comes from one of the appellation’s highest vineyards, at around 350 metres above sea level. Family owned and deeply rooted in the area, Domaine la Bouïssière combines heritage with a clear, thoughtful approach to viticulture. The blend of 75% Grenache and 25% Syrah offers ripe, dark berry fruit with subtle spice, balanced by a refreshing natural acidity. Supple, well-judged and finely knit, it finishes with poise and quiet persistence.

Domaine la Bouïssière is a family-run estate based in the heart of the Dentelles de Montmirail in the southern Rhône. Founded in the 1960s by Antonin Faravel, the domaine is now led by his sons, Thierry and Gilles, who continue to build on their father’s vision with a strong respect for terroir and tradition. The estate farms high-altitude vineyards across Gigondas, Vacqueyras and Beaumes de Venise, many planted on steep slopes and ancient scree soils. Organic farming practices, old vines and meticulous vineyard work are central to their philosophy, with a focus on freshness, balance and site expression. In the cellar, winemaking is deliberately restrained: whole-cluster fermentations, gentle extraction, ageing in concrete and large old foudres, and no fining or filtration. The result is a range of wines that combine southern Rhône generosity with precision, minerality and excellent ageing potential.
