Tasting notes:
The most powerful expression of Penfolds, Grange is officially listed as a Heritage Icon of South Australia. Crafted utilising ripe and structured shiraz grapes, the result is a unique Australian style that is now recognised as one of the most consistent of the world’s great wines. Complex and layered on the palate with enticing notes of dark fruits and spices, it has received the coveted 100 points on several occasions.
Producer description:
Dating back to 1844, Penfold was founded by Dr Christopher and Mary Penfold who established their vineyard at Magill Estate. Within a few years, the winery became the largest in South Australia but it was only in the 1960s that it achieved international success with the release of what is now one of the world’s most celebrated Australian wines: Grange.
