Tasting notes:
Second wine Pagodes de Cos is aged in oak barrels for 12 months. Concentrated, elegant and supple with flavours of blackcurrant and notes of leather and delicate touch on freshness on the finish.
Producer description:
Classified as a second growth in 1855, Château Cos d’Estournel is the star of St Estephe, alongside Château Montrose, and is in direct competition with the quality of some first growth. Since Jean-Guillaume Prats left the estate, Aymeric de Gironde, formally at Pichon Longueville, has taken over. They use higher a percentage of Merlot than their neighbours to produce fleshy wines rich in texture while retaining freshness, elegance and precision.
