Tasting notes:
Aged in French oak barrels for 24 months. Aromas of freshly crushed small raspberry and redcurrant with notes of wild roses, licorice and spice. Full-bodied, warm and elegant on the palate with soft tannins and a long finish.
Producer description:
Elio’s grandpa founded the estate in 1948 in La Morra which, at the time, spread across 5 hectares. After spending time in Burgundy, Elio returned to Piedmont and started to implement a lot of changes which his father disagreed with. Eventually, he came to own the winery and went ahead with his vision. He adopted a strict regime in the vineyard alongside new vinification and ageing methods, aiming to favour elegance, finesse, and balance in his wines. Today he is helped by his daughter and owns 10 hectares of vines while producing 70,000 bottles on average per year.
