Tasting notes:

One of Italy’s cult white wine, Batar is the ultimate white Super Tuscan. Barrel-fermented and aged for 9 months in French oak barrels on the lees. Aromas of citrus fruits, jasmine, spice and pear with notes of tropical fruits. Full-bodied and delicate with a creamy texture well-balanced with a refreshing acidityand a vibrant minerality. Batàr has the ability to improve over time. Only 16,000 bottles made each year.

Querciabella, meaning “beautiful oak, is located in Chianti Ruffoli. This small estate was acquired by Giuseppe (Pepito) Castiglioni in the 1970s. Giuseppe aspired to craft wines of unparalleled elegance and richness, drawing inspiration from both local Sangiovese and international grapes from the world’s most esteemed terroirs. Today, the estate is in the hands of daughter Mita. The team follow biodynamic principles and all wines are certified organic. They are mainly famous for their iconic white, Batar, and flagship red Camartina.
