Tasting notes:
Maranges is a great source for affordable Burgundy. Sourced from granite and gravel soils, fermented with indigenous yeasts with malolactic fermentation and aged for 12 months in French large oak vessels (15% new) and a further 3 months in stainless steel. Aromas of stone and citrus fruits with notes of praline and roasted hazelnuts. Medium-bodied with a lovely texture well-balanced with lively acidity.
Producer description:
Located south of Puligny and Chassagne-Montrachet, Domaine Chevrot spreads across 19-hectare and is farmed organically. Brothers Pablo and Vincent now run the estate and have introduced horse-drawn ploughing. They keep sulphites to a minimum and mature their wines in large barrels to retain the freshness.
