Tasting notes:
Half the grapes were dried under the sun. Fermented with wild yeasts and aged for six months in oak barrels. Aromas of flowers, nutmeg and dried apricot with orange zest with toasted notes. Sweet and finely structured on the palate with caramel flavours and a long finish.
Producer description:
This small family estate is mainly known for restoring the good name of Marsala, which over the years had become a mere cooking ingredient. Marco De Bartoli has also created cult wine Bukkuram and excellent sparkling wines. Today, his children have taken over the estate but continue to promote Sicily’s indigenous grapes.
