Tasting notes:
Aged on the lees for two months, then seven months in a mix of stainless-steel vats and acacia wood barrels and a further 16 months in the bottle. Aromas of ripe yellow plum and medlar fruit alongside subtle notes of bergamot and balsamic. Vibrant on the palate with the right balance between freshness and texture.
Producer description:
The ancestral home to the Creixell family, who also owns the renowned Riojan winery Marques de Murrieta, Pazo Barrantes boasts 12 hectares of Albariño vineyards on sandy, acidic and shallow soils. All the vines are traditionally trained high on supporting wires in the “Parral” trellis system, to avoid mildew and rot, while enhancing the ripening of the grapes.
