Tasting notes:
Campo di Camagi is a 1.5-hectare parcel of shallow, stony soil sitting atop a layer of quartz and limestone at 550 meters a.s.l. Here, the 30 years old vines struggle to dig down their roots with a fierce competition for space, which results in low yield. Deep, complex and ample with aromas of small red and black berry fruits alongside spicy notes. Bold and sophisticated on the palate with a smooth mouthfeel and firm tannins are firm. Less than 1,000 bottes are produced.
Producer description:
Located on the rolling hills of Val d’Orcia, Tenuta di Trinoro was acquired by Andrea Franchetti in the 1980s. Viticulture never took place before his arrival and no one believed in his project however, he was determined to make world-class wines. By lowering the yields to create deep wines full of flavours, Andrea has achieved his mission and created a true Super-Tuscan which is now sought-after by collectors. Today, his son Benjamin continues his vision. All the wines are biodynamic.
