Tasting notes:
The grapes for the Nuits-Saint-Georges village appellation are sourced from four distinct parcels situated on either side of the Meuzin valley, which cuts through the Côte de Nuits at this point, descending from the higher hills. These sites are characterised by predominantly loamy soils interspersed with both large and small stones. Such conditions favour Pinot Noir of fine structure and aromatic complexity. Philippe’s thoughtful, precise approach ensures these terroir-driven qualities are clearly expressed in the finished wine.
Producer description:
Claire Chevillon and Philippe Chezeaux are the 5th generation to run their share of the Chevillon family vines. Prior to 2000 the estate was known as Domaine Michel Chevillon (Claire’s father). Today the property extends over 8 hectares including nearly 2 hectares of five Nuits premiers crus. Philippe is responsible for the wine-making which remains largely traditional.
