Tasting notes:

Party aged in two year-old barrels to add weight. Expressive nose with aromas of fresh black fruit and hints of liquorice and herbs. Medium-bodied with a vibrant acidity complemented by underlying spice and soft tannins.

Producer description:

Located in the heart of the Pic Saint-Loup appellation in the Languedoc, Domaine de l’Hortus was created from scratch by Jean Orliac in the late seventies. The estate has become is a flag-bearer for the appellation and now extend to 80 hectares. His children Francois, Yves, Marie and Martin are now in charge of the estate.
