2022 Soave Classico Calvarino

Tasting notes:

Calvarino’ is a single vineyard that has been owned by the family since 1901. It is planted on the classic volcanic basalt soils of Soave Classico. Unoaked and aged on the fine lees for around 12-15 months. Aromas of lemon, cherry and elderflower. Elegant and refined on the palate with distinctive mineral notes reminiscent of a good Chablis.

Producer description:

The Pieropan family was the first to bottle a wine with the name Soave on the label back in the 1930s and the first to produce single-vineyard wines within the appellation. Today, Andrea and Dario Pieropan run the estate and own 58 hectares of vines, all certified organic. Famous for making rich and zesty whites, the winery’s flagship wine is La Rocca. It has won many gold medals at the International Wine Challenge over the years.
