Tasting notes:
Bougros, part of the prestigious Chablis Grand Cru appellation, sits on classic Kimmeridgian soils dense with fossilised seashells. Here, southwest-facing slopes and clay-rich soils yield a wine of generosity and finesse. Rounded and approachable in youth, it offers notes of ripe fruit and delicate honey, underpinned by a signature mineral backbone. With time, its aromatics deepen and evolve, making it a versatile partner to scallops, duck breast, or aged goat’s cheese. Enjoyable today, yet capable of graceful ageing for another 10–15 years.
Producer description:
With roots tracing back to 1810, Domaine Roy embodies over two centuries of winemaking heritage in Chablis. Founded by Pierre Roy in the village of Fontenay-près-Chablis, the estate is now in the hands of Claude Roy, his daughter Karine, and nephew David, who together cultivate 20 hectares of vines.
