Tasting notes:
This Meursault is a rich and generous Chardonnay, crafted from nine separate parcels and vinified in both stainless steel and new oak before spending 14 months in barrel. While that may sound bold, the result is a beautifully judged wine where ripe fruit, oak and acidity are in perfect harmony. Aromas of pineapple, peach, honeysuckle, lemon and roasted hazelnut flow into a palate that is both exotic and refined, finishing long with a touch of spice and elegance
Producer description:
Though less well-known than some neighbours in Puligny-Montrachet, Sylvain Bzikot quietly lets his wines speak for themselves. The Domaine’s story began when Sylvain’s grandfather, a Polish immigrant, arrived in Puligny on the eve of the Second World War with nothing but the clothes on his back. From those modest beginnings, the family has built up 4 hectares in Puligny-Montrachet and its prized Premier Cru vineyards, alongside 9 hectares of Bourgogne-level parcels producing Chardonnay, Aligoté and Pinot Noir.
