Tasting notes:
Made of numerous ‘lieu-dit’ sites, Champ Canet has a good exposure to the morning sunlight which helps ripening and concentration in the wine. Fermented on the lees and aged for up to 18 months in oak barrels (25% new). Aromas of citrus, acacia, quince and fresh apricot. Generous and complex with a vibrant acidity and saline notes on the finish.
Producer description:
Jean-Marc Boillot needs little introduction amongst Burgundy lovers. He gained his expertise at Olivier Leflaive before creating his own Domaine in 1985. A few years later, he inherited some 1er Cru vineyards from his grandfather Etienne Sauzet. Over the years he has earned a respected reputation for making pure, precise and very impressive Puligny. Today the family estate is run by his daughter Lydie with her husband François Alzingre who also owns vineyards in the Côte Chalonnaise and Mâconnais.
