The second wine is a gateway to the world of Château La Mission Haut-Brion. Aged for 12 months in oak barrels. Aromas of cherry, stewed black and red plums alongside vanilla pod and dark chocolate. Medium to full-bodied on the palate with velvety tannins well-balanced by the freshness from the acidity and a long finish.

This estate dates back to the 16th century. Owned by Domaine Clarence Dillon, the vineyards of La Mission de Haut Brion lie next to those of Haut Brion, on deep gravel croupes interspersed with clay. The wines are bigger and more tannic than its illustrious sister property but are also more accessible in their youth.
