Aged for up to 12 months in French oak barrels (50% new). Concentrated and complex with aromas of peach, citrus and lime alongside floral scents. Rich, vibrant and compact on the palate with depth and a persistent finish.
Producer description:
Château Haut-Brion is the only Premier Grand Cru Classé that is not located in the Médoc but in Pessac-Leognan. Vines were planted here over 2000 years ago by the romans who could already see the benefits of the tiny quartz pebbles called “graves” (gravel) which compose the soil. The estate today spreads across 51 ha of vines with an excellent orientation and slopes ensuring natural drainage. One of the particularities at Haut Brion is to frequently rack the Grand Vin “à l’esquive” (through the small bunghole at the base of the barrel) during the maturation. This is a meticulous process that gently oxygenates the wines and forms its character.
