2024 Chateau Montrose
Tasting notes:
The Grand Vin is the result of a rigorous selection of the grapes. Matured for 18 months in 60% new French oak barrels. This is a typical Saint-Estèphe with complex aromas of blackcurrant, red berry and leather. Structured and tannic yet elegant and refined, the wines have a considerable ageing potential and are exceptionally long-lived.
Producer description:
Dating back to 1815, Ch Montrose has been owned by three families. The Dumoulin created the estate which was classified as a second growth 40 years later. Then Dollfus modernised and expanded the property and the Charmolue steadily enhanced the reputation of the estate. Since 2006, the now 95-hectare of vines belongs to Martin and Olivier Bouygues. They built a 1,000 square metres cellar which combine cutting-edge environmental and winemaking technology and architectural beauty.
