Tasting notes:
Matured for two years in oak barrels. And infused with Quassia wood, gentian root, cardamom seeds, juniper berries, tonka bean, mace, and chamomile. Aromas of red fruit and spicy notes. Both bitterness and sweetness are mingled on the palate and balance each other.

Run by Massimiliana Spinola and Henry Finzi-Constantine, Castello di Tassarolo is situated in the village of the same name in the heart of Gavi. The 20 hectares of vineyards surrounds the winery and are planted with Cortese, Barbera and some Cabernet Sauvignon. The Spinola family has been living in the castle of Tassarolo since 250 AD and started making wine in the 14th century. Now certified Biodynamic, their wines are also vegan.
