Tasting notes:

Aged in large French oak casks for 4 years on average, before the blend takes place. This multi vintage sparkling is crisp and elegant with complex aromas of pear, spice and hazelnut. Fresh and lightly fruity with great finesse and depth of flavour. Faithful to Roederer style.

Producer description:

Created in 1982, Roederer’s California Estate winery is nestled in Mendocino County’s fog-shrouded Anderson Valley. The area is characterised by a cool climate and well-drained soils both ideal for Louis Roederer winemaking style. In the vineyard, they follow sustainable practices and rely highly on manual skills in order to achieve optimum ripeness. All the grapes that go into Quartet are grown on the Estate.

Critic Scores

Decanter | 93

The iconic Quarted blend of Chardonnay (60%) and Pinot Noir (40%) with two years in contact with the lees. From fog-shrouded Anderson Valley this shows supreme elegance, balance and poise. Pale straw colour. Attractive notes of citrus fruits, fresh dough, cashew nuts, star fruit, Mirabelle plum and fresh biscuits on the nose. The palate dry with a lovely creamy texture, amazing finesse and sophistication, followed by an assertive and refreshing finish.

Robert Parker | 92

The NV Estate Brut is scented of sour lemon, almonds and biscuits with flinty touches. The medium-bodied palate is rounded and creamy with bright, lemony character and a long, mineral-driven finish.

James Suckling | 94

Extremely fresh and floral with sliced apples, stones and some white peach. Bread dough, too. Fine bead. Medium to full body with crisp acidity and a steely finish. Hints of phenolics provide a fine texture. Vibrant acidity. About 15% reserve wine (mostly chardonnay) in this, from five vintages. 2.5 years on the lees. 60% chardonnay and 40% pinot noir. Drink or hold.
