Tasting notes:
First produced in 1975, Tinto Pesquera is aged for 24 months in oak barrels. Aromas of red and black fruit with some hints of coconut and vanilla. Medium to full-bodied with dusty tannins and a fresh acidity. Can be kept for 15 to 20 years from the vintage.
Producer description:
Alejandro Fernández and his wife Esperanza Rivera bought a 16th-century winery in Pesquera de Duero in the 1970s. Together, they committed to revive Ribera del Duero's ancient winemaking tradition and gave birth to a now iconic winery, Tinto Pesquera, which was described as “the ‘Spanish Pétrus” by critic Robert Parker. Alejandro played a big role in putting Ribera del Duero on the world stage and today, the family company that owns four wineries: Tinto Pesquera, Condado de Haza, El Vinculo and Deheza la Granja.
