Tasting notes:

Aged in barrels for a few months. Bright with aromas of red berry and notes of leather, dried cranberry, spice and tobacco. Savoury on the palate with some texture and soft tannins, this is a very elegant wine with a soft mouthfeel and some complexity.

Producer description:

Gabiano is the name of one of the smallest DOC in Italy, covering today not more than 3 hectares in Piedmont. The Marquises Cattaneo Adorno Giustiniani have been making wines here for over 400 years. Today, the estate is run by Giacomo Cattaneo Adorno, the last Marquis of Gabiano, and his wife Emanuela. They are committed to capture the beauty and structure of Monferrato in every bottle of wine they make. Together, they own 260 hectares, of which 22 are under vines and planted on hills lying between 120 and 350 meters above sea level.

Aromas of dried red plums, potpourri, and resin followed by tree bark and mushrooms. Medium-bodied with sturdy yet dusty tannins. Subtle leather aftertaste. Minerally wine. Drink now.
