Tasting notes:
Deep ruby in colour. The nose reveals layers of plum and summer berries intertwined with savoury spice, tobacco leaf and refined cigar box notes. Medium to full-bodied at 13% alcohol, the palate is structured yet poised, with abundant fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity providing precision and longevity. Dark fruit, cedar and subtle herbal nuances unfold gradually, leading to a long, composed finish. Built to evolve beautifully over the next 5–30 years.
Producer description:
Founded in 1724, Tenuta San Leonardo is a historic, family-owned estate located in Trentino, between the foothills of the Alps and Lake Garda. With over three centuries of viticultural tradition, the estate continues to follow time-honoured practices that emphasise precision, balance and respect for the land. The estate’s modern identity took shape when Marchese Tullo Guerrieri Gonzaga married Gemma de Gresti, whose family had owned Tenuta San Leonardo for more than 200 years. From that union, a dedicated focus on fine winemaking began, establishing the foundations of the estate’s enduring reputation. Today, Tenuta San Leonardo crafts wines defined by freshness, elegance and structure, reflecting both its noble heritage and its unique Alpine-influenced terroir.
