Tasting notes:

All the grapes undergo a light drying process for about 1.5 month. Matured in new barriques for up to 36 months. Aromas of blueberry, blackberry, cherry and chocolate with homnts of sweet spice and jam. Full-bodied with ripe concentrated fruit and velvety tannins. Both powerful and graceful.

Producer description:

Romano dal Forno is undoubtedly one of the most respected and sought-after producers in Veneto. The wines made here are some of the deepest, richest, and most age-worthy expressions in the region, while maintaining elegance and freshness. It all started in 1983, when Romano decided to make his own wine, instead of selling the grapes from the family’s vineyards. Mentored by the great Giuseppe Quintarelli, he learnt the craft as he went along and has become the leader of Verona's new wave of winemaking. His wines deserve their place in the very finest cellars of the most discerning collectors.

Restrained dark bramble fruit and vibrant spiciness, with notes of cold coffee, earth and bay leaves. The attack is dense and velvety, with thick, ripe tannins that are a bit sandy. Ripe and full-bodied with crisp acidity and good length focused on graphite. Power and grace, with a restrained chocolate aftertaste
