Sourced from 40-year-old vineyards in Brusnengo. Fermented with natural yeasts and aged for 21 months in oak barrels (no new oak used). Aromas of red fruits, pepper and black tea. Medium-bodied with delicate tannins and a smooth and luxurious finish.

Producer description:

Located in northern Piedmont, Proprietà Sperino is a 10-hectare estate in a hillside. It was inherited by the De Marchi family, who own Isole e Olena, in the 1970s. Over the years, they have revitalised the estate and have consistently produced fragrant and intense wines reminiscent of Burgundian Pinot Noirs.

Sweet, perfumed and almost intoxicatingly beautiful, the 2018 possess striking inner sweetness and huge depth, marrying power and elegance to a degree I have not seen in previous vintages.
