Tasting notes:
Predominantly Mourvèdre with a small proportion of Grenache, this is a powerful yet elegant expression of Bandol. Aromas of blackberry, black cherry, violet and wild Provençal herbs lead to a concentrated palate with firm tannins, vibrant freshness and savoury spice. Rich, complex and beautifully balanced, with a long, persistent finish.
Producer description:
Domaine de la Bégude is one of Bandol's most historic estates, located at 410 metres above sea level, making it the highest vineyard in the appellation. Restored in 1996, the estate is farmed organically and biodynamically, with a strong focus on Mourvèdre grown on clay-limestone soils. The combination of altitude, Mediterranean sunshine and cooling sea breezes produces wines of remarkable freshness, structure and longevity
