Tasting notes:
Aromas of violets, lavender, licorice, nutmeg and potpourri. Full-bodied with layers of fine tannins that are crunchy and silky, showing freshness and bright fruit at the end. Caressing texture. An excellent example of the vintage. Needs time to come together, but is very pretty and satisfying.
Producer description:
The origins of Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona date back to the 17th century. The estate lies on the south-eastern slopes of Montalcino, in the Castelnuovo dell’Abate area, where the Bianchini family has built a strong reputation for producing refined and age-worthy Brunello. Benefiting from a distinctive microclimate — relatively cool despite the southern exposure — the vineyards are planted on well-draining galestro soils. These conditions allow the estate to craft wines of elegance, balance and longevity, which have become a benchmark for the southern side of Montalcino.
