2021 Puligny Montrachet
Tasting notes:
Barrel fermented and aged for 12 months in a mix of oak barrels (no new oak) to add texture, and stainless steel to preserve the freshness of the fruits. Aromas of apple, cardamom, dry mint and graphite. Harmonious on the palate with a silky texture and a thrilling acidity. A fine, mineral wine that will age gracefully.
Producer description:
The Bzikot estate was founded just before the Second World War by Sylvain’s grandfather. At the time, the grapes were sold to negociant but, in the 1990s, Sylvain decided to make his own wine. He now owns an impressive 15 hectares of vineyards across the villages of Puligny-Montrachet, Santenay, Auxey-Duresses et Volnay. His wines are still very much under-the-radar in the UK but this may change pretty fast.
