Tasting notes:

The flagship of the estate, this Pinot Noir is a blend of several vineyards and offers a complete portrait of the Russian River Valley. Aromas of vanilla, black raspberry, fresh thyme, and plum compote. Soft, juicy, and lush on the palate, with a refreshing acidity, soft tannins, and a long, spicy finish.

Producer description:

Founded in 1970, Merry Edwards has been considered a pioneer in the American wine industry. The estate is known for its single-vineyard Pinot Noirs of immense depth, elegant structure, and exceptional longevity. Today, winemaker Heidi von der Mehden and winery president Nicole Carter have taken over the estate in partnership with Champagne House Louis Roederer. Together, they continue Merry’s legacy, a fierce determination and uncompromising commitment to quality.

Critic Scores

Wine Spectator | 92

Dense and structured, this robust wine offers more than the usual tannins and acidity, giving it a grippy mouthfeel and the potential to mellow with time. Black cherries, black currants and woodsy spices are there, waiting to develop.

James Suckling | 93

Lots of focused tannins and dark fruits such as cherries and strawberries. Hibiscus. Very clear and precise. Full to medium body. Very fine and clean tannins. Orange peel. Linear and racy finish
