Tasting notes:
Fixin is known for its robust, structured, and at times sauvage character. Lower-slope soils, with their heavier clay-limestone mix, yield wines that are bolder and more muscular, while the premier cru vineyards higher up on pure brown limestone often show greater finesse and minerality. Magnien’s Fixin reflects both power and precision, with earthy depth balanced by a fine mineral thread.
Producer description:
From its cellars in Morey-Saint-Denis, Domaine Michel Magnien has developed a singular style rooted in family tradition and biodynamic principles. In 1993, Frédéric Magnien convinced his father Michel to begin estate bottling, and today the domaine is fully Demeter-certified. All wines are produced without new oak, allowing the purity of fruit and terroir to shine. The average vine age is around 50 years, further deepening the character and complexity of the wines.
