Tasting notes:
This single vineyard Rosso is dedicated to the founder and was created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the estate. Aged for 13 months in oak barrels. Aromas of cherry, raspberry, currant and rose petals. Full-bodied with soft and very fine-grained tannins and a juicy finish.
Producer description:
Founded in 1971 by Giovanni Neri, this estate quickly achieve international acclaims and earned its place amongst the best producers in Brunello. Neri was fascinated by remote Montalcino and its austere Sangiovese. He found a working farm, Podere Casanova, which, thanks to its altitude, aspect and soil composition, had the potential to make great Brunellos. Today, his son Giacomo runs the estate, alongside his two sons, Giovanni and Gianlorenzo. They own seven vineyards, each having its own identity and planted with Casanova di Neri's own clones of Sangiovevse.
