French Sauvignon Blanc? There aren’t many wines more classic, versatile and elegant. This is a light, dry and crisp Sauvignon; produced in the Langudeoc it has more body than say, a Sancerre (and at a fraction of the price). It is a typical pale gold colour, with a generous expression of citrus and grassy green notes. On the palate, you’ll get flavours of fresh pear, apple, and lemon, bright freshness and juicy acidity. This is the perfect easy drinking style that is characteristic of the everyday Moulin de Gassac range. A perfect accompaniment for many foods but our favourites would be some fresh fish or soft goats cheese.

Producer description:

Founded in 1971 by Véronique and Aimé Guibert in the upper Gassac valley, Mas de Daumas Gassac is Languedoc’s benchmark Grand Cru estate. Now stewarded by four sons, the family farms uncloned vines on rare glacial soils, producing Cabernet-led wines of remarkable freshness, elegance and Mediterranean character, never exceeding 14% alcohol.
