2016 Chateau Beausejour Becot

Tasting notes:

Matured for up to 18 months in oak barrel (70% new). Pure aromas of redcurrant, raspberry and wild strawberry with notes of crushed roses, leather and espresso. Opulent on the palate with a silky texture and grippy tannins. It will fully reveal itself within 10 years and keep for at least two decades.

Producer description:

Mainly located atop the limestone plateau of St Emilion, Chateau Beausejour Becot has an outstanding terroir. Third generation Juliette Bécot and husband Julien Barthe are helped with cousins Pierre and Caroline Bécot. Since they have hired Thomas Duclos as a consultant, who took over Michel Rolland, the wines have stylistically changed. Once Parker-friendly, with ripe fruits and lots of new oak, they are now much more elegant.
