2021 Rosso di Montalcino
Tasting notes:
Certified organic, his vines benefit from a unique situation on the North side of the hill of Montalcino which brings freshness to his wines. Fermented with natural yeasts and aged in 225hl oak barrels and no filtration before bottling. Aromas of wild berry, crushed flowers and tilled earth. Full-bodied and vibrant on the palate, this is a generous wine that would make for good company with a local wood-fired pizza.
Producer description:
A well-established consultant in Montalcino, Giuseppe Gorelli is no newcomer in the area. He released his first Brunello in 1987 under his grandfather’s label, Due Portine-Gorelli while working with the legendary Gambelli. A decade later, Giuseppe started his own estate, Tenuta Le Potazzine, and his wines quickly received some of the highest praise awarded to any classically-styled grower in Brunello. Today, his daughters are running the estate, but Giuseppe still farms 6 hectares of their old vines on his own and created a new label named after himself.
